So on these cold spring days, my bed gets lonely right? So most people get a man to warm their bed. However... I have found something better.

Horatio.

Horatio the Turtle. (bet you all thought this was going to turn dirty! Maybe take your minds out of the gutter please. This is a CLEAN blog!)

This beautiful creature has been oh so kindly lent to me by my good friend Alfred A.J Discepolo (he has quite a fancy name and is a southern gentleman and a scholar, and when he isn't handing out giant turtle friends, he goes rock climbing while listening to disney music. I tell no lie) Horatio is a good turtle. He stays faithfully in the bed with me. Chilling. 

He also loves hugs. 

Which means that I love him. 

So on these long Vermont freezing cold winter  (people lie when they say spring is here!) you most defiantly need a Turtle friend. Or someone to love and hug. 

(I write this cuddling up next to Horatio. Because he is only on loan :'( )

Dying My Hair.

So for those who don't stalk me on facebook, you won't know that I've recently dyed my hair. 

Normally this wouldnt be the biggest deal in the world as I have dyed my hair before (gasp shock horror! My hair isn't naturally the bright gold it was, it's naturally a dirty dirty blonde) but this time I decieded to change it completely. 

Yup.

Thats right. I now have a maroon burgendy hair colour. 

Do you know how many double takes that have been sent my way?

SOO MANY! The best one, was from my friend Nick Tebbetts. As I had dyed my hair randomly with no warning to anyone, it kinda took everyone by surprise. So, my pal Nick was just walking into chow, and I called out HEY NICK. So he obviously turns to look at me. It was a casual look and he carried on walking for two steps. He then got a confused look on his face, took one step back, turned and looked at me and said in a confused "KATRINA?". 

It was so funny. 

But I think I look nice. I mean, my little sister kinda hung up on me when she saw it. :(

Day Two in New York

Well the second day in NYC was pretty eventful. For this was the day that we decided to venture over to Brooklyn (and get lost ) and find a walk way by the water and see NYC from that angle before we crossed over the Brooklyn bridge into manhattan! 

 

But as I have already indicated, we got lost (my inner compass does not really make sense to any logic) but due to earles amazing GPS, we eventually began to head in the right direction. But when we got to the promised pier, it was in construction.  Just our luck right? But we made it to Brooklyn bridge park (after walking around a marathon) and it really was a beautiful view.  We also ate lunch there. Nomnomnomnomnom. (we made our own packed sandwiches each day. Oh so nomnomnomnom) and then we headed across the Brooklyn bridge. 

After Brooklyn bridge we chilled in central park for a good few hours until Earle decided that he wanted to buy some sprite for dinner that night, and it was virtually impossible to find anywhere. When we did eventually find a store that sold sprite, we were now at 3rd Avenue. At the time, this didn't seem to be a problem when we got on a subway and it went to 135 street. 

Oh how wrong we were. 

We were at 135 East, not 135 West. Which are worlds away. But we were quite obvious, and thought, that's okay, we can just walk to the west and we'll find our way back! Eh...

Horseradish. There is a river in the way of these two places. A whole fricken river. 

Now on the way back, I had begun to notice that I was getting quitea few stares and I didn't really know white. Until I realised that I was the brightest, and whitest girl there. Scratch that, I was the only white person for miles around. Obviously I turn to Earle and point out this fact. He laughs, ( I mean, come on! It's kinda funny!) when a man in front of me turns around and loudly states that he "ain't just looking at you cause you're white, I'm looking at you cause your fine" and then he goes to list the reasons why I was "fine".

At this point I burst into flames due to the bright red burning blush I experienced, and died. 

So that was my first experience of being a complete and utter minority. Who says Harlem and South Bronx isn't a nice place to go?

 

Spring Break NYC pt 1

So it's spring break!

 

I know it's been quite a while. But I must confess to being quite homesick. :( I know. People wouldn't quite believe it, but I miss my crazy family! But as a good friend once told me 'It is a bummer and I told you not to' so I'm trying not to be a debby downer! 

 

But carrying on, it's Spring break!

I am currently in NYC (Thats New York City ) , and I'm here with my besto Earle. So far we have walked around all four boroughs, (I don't believe that there is a fifth borough as there there is not a fifth borough listed on the subway map, therefore does not exit!) basically if there is something free going on that day, we would go and see it. So that includes window shopping.

 

Part 1

Shopping But Not Actually Buying Anything because We Are Really Cheap, and Are Poor College Students.

Window shopping, consist of walking around times square, and going through all the children's stores. Not like our average ages are 20 or anything. But it was a great laugh, We went upstairs to the disney store to see more giggles! (as advertised in the store) and saw all the pretty little princess dresses, and I know what my daughter will always wear when she goes to fancy dress parties! With out the stupid sparkly jewel in the front with the princess's faces on them. I mean they just look tacky! Speaking of tacky I went to see donald trumps building! Eh. Ew. It is stupidly  gaudy and gold. Ewwwww. It's all hideous and gold. We went to the top just so I could hate trump that little bit more. You know what I mean? How is he all rich? It is horrendous. But funny story, I managed to make earle lie down on the street outside of trump towers. (See it's this game we play, we make some glasses with our hands, and say the victims name so they look at your face. then they must lie down on their back as you count to 5 ). So all in all a great day!

Earle's Exam

 

This was my best friend's Earle's final exam for one of his classes. I didn't manage to tape all of it as I had a basketball game right in the middle of the production. But it is kinda funny.

On Tuesday I found out. 

 

On Friday the plug was pulled.

Reasons Why I Love Thunder!

1) It makes a lovely noise 2) I like to huddle under blankets.  3) I've always had thunder thighs 4) I support Oklahoma City Thunder 5) Thor is the best god out there And this is why I will most likely get a tattoo in the shape of a lightening bolt!

New York part 2

Then the next day we went to visit the empire state building, ate at shake shack, tried, and failed to fix my mobile phone. Then in the evening we went to the NBA store to check it out and buy a little something for my friend and myself. I now realise support Oklahoma City Thunder. A) cause my friend supports them, and I trust him. B) Come on people! THUNDER! (I love everything about thunder. It's a long complicated thing ) So I got him a little something ( from OKC) and myself a little something something. We ate pizza in our room and chilled. The day after that, we went to Brooklyn Bridge and walked over that ( All while hearing about the house wives of new york), then of course central station. Then we had a romantic horse carriage ride through central park. It was lovely actually! After that we went to the apple store. Underground. It was strange. But quite nice. My momma got her new iPad! After that, we went back to the hotel, chilled and went to the natural history museum. Cause we is cool and nerdy like that ;). Then we ran to the Australian bar. To meet Trish again. There I met up with my pal, who is unfortunately leaving Norwich. Caught the subway to Bronx, and I met an uncle and an aunt. I felt pretty white. Not gunna lie. But I am really gunna miss my pal. Stupid having to pay for education over here! :(
