This is my first blog, and, oddly enough, the last one I will be able to post before school starts because we wont have the internet before then. I'm Janessa, as you can see, and I'm an incoming Rook, go me! Haha!
This is my last night at home, or my new home at least: my parents moved to Barre, VT, so our home is not even an hour away from Norwich now, yay! I've packed all my bags, gotten my clothes ready for the morning, and now its just the waiting game. I'm a wondrous combination of nervousness and anxiousness. I felt like this before things I did in high school too, like Leadership Academy, Marine Corps Challenge, and Mini-Boot Camp, just to name a few. All of those were a part of my high school's NJROTC program and all of them involved a tiny bit of the challenges that I am about to encounter. In some ways I can't wait and in others I certainly can.
My mom and I went by the school yesterday to check out a few things and even though school hasn't even started yet, I know thats where I want to be. The campus is GORGEOUS! The faculty are always helpful. Its just the best place I can see myself. When we were on campus we saw some of the Corps upperclassmen doing Sword Drill on the parade ground and I just can't wait to be apart of that.
Well, I'm off for now; I have to spend as much time with my family as I can before I wont be able to see them for awhile. Wish me luck tomorrow!
