I have just arrived back to barracks from our soccer scrimmage. We lost to Concordia College of Montreal five to two. We played a good game and controlled the ball a good amount. On August 26th we played Vermont Technical College and we won five nothing. This was also a very good match. Our first season game is this coming Tuesday against Plattsburg. I do believe we will win this game against one of our biggest rivals. That is enough about soccer though, rook week has been an interesting experience. Waking up to a big cannon boom at six every morning, trust me it surprises you. Then after being surprised try to get ready for the day in under ten minutes. It is a challenge and I'm getting pretty good at it. Picture three rooks all in a small room rushing out of the room to just get outside; it can be a mess sometimes and we are trying our best to make it so that it looks easy. Stumbling outside in Vermont weather, where you get burned in the heat of the day and your teeth are chattering at six in the morning while doing physical training. There is a very specific way to do everything here, like while squaring your walk if its a right turn you must pivit on your left foot. The one thing I'm still having trouble with here is when you are in the gutter (the side of any walkway) marching you are supposed to look forward, but you also must salute and greet officers. To do that though you must look at their rank, however when marching you are to only look forward. So personally I miss a good amount of officers. I'm currently working on using my peripheral vision to do everything correctly and I hope I can soon get it right. I'm off for now to finish S.O.P-ing my room, I will upload a picture of that on my next post and that is another story. Wish me luck.
