Three weeks ago I was assigned to CTC 9-1-1 for the first rotation for CPL Cadre. On my first day I guess you can say I had no idea what to do. I forgot how it was to be a freshmen, much less lead them because you have to remember half the year already went by so you have to be a little bit lenient. You can't go all rook week at them and at everything they did wrong, it's more like a guidance thing and just tell them what they did wrong.
So my first rotation lasted for 2 weeks and I learned a lot. Like there are many different leadership styles. I think the most drastic change was my switch from 9-1-1 to 9-1-3. The personality of the platoons are completely different, and working with a new staff was different too. I learned how to adapt to different situations and other leadership styles. So far it's been a good experience, but hopefully for the next rotation I'm not cadre. It's a good job and all, but it would be nice to get different training in another billet.
