Jr. Ring Weekend '10

        Although I did not get my Jr.Ring, I was still very happy about this weekend! My rook sister came up for the ball and I had a VERY NICE dress for the ball! I had a great time celebrating with my company all weekend! I was very happy for all the juniors who got their rings. Starting wednesday of that week I lost some of my attention span because I was just thinking about the weekend. This past weekend was my pay-off for working so hard in the past month. It felt so good to just relax and not touch any books until Sunday night, because I usually touch books on saturday too. But I have to admit it was kinda hard getting back to the daily grind, I had to slowly ease myself back into homework.

        Definitely this past weekend got me thinking about my Jr. Ring. I'm starting to have ideas on how I want my ring to look, my dress for the ball, and my numerous friends that I want to invite here for the weekend. Until that time, I'll just get back to work for final because that isn't until a long ways down the road.

I've been quite busy lately...it must be the near the end.

        I know I haven't posted anything for a while because I've been busy with tests all week. I realized this month I've had a test every week, especially in anatomy, and I usually use the whole week to study for that test. Even during the weekend I find myself cracking open my anatomy labs or text books to study. This month has literally been crunch time with tests and projects. This week I realized there's only 3 weeks of school left, I'm very surprised. Which means I have to work extra hard in my classes, pay attention and not lose focus. I'm starting to daydream again in classes, which is not good. Jr. Ring weekend was the big pay-off for me, I will elaborate more on a different post, but this past weekend was definitely a big BREAK! So for the rest of the time I will be working very hard to finish off the semester strong! =)

Spring FEX at Camp Edwards

    This past weekend, Bravo Company (Marine Corps) of Naval Battalion got to go to Camp Edwards for our Spring FEX, and let me just say it was quite the experience. I learned a lot, and a lot of new stuff also! I can clearly say that I wasn't that prepared to for some of the events, but now I know what I have to improve on. Our FEX consisted of a very long bus ride near the Cape, followed by sleeping in huts for two nights. On Saturday we did LRC's (leadership reaction courses), Squad tactics, day/night land navigation, and the confidence course. I personally think the confidence course made the whole FEX, the fact that I never did any of that stuff before was pretty cool. I learned a few things about myself, like I have to jump to get over certain obstacles because I'm short, if I have to climb the entire staircase to heaven I'll have to jump to climb up the ladder, and to build up some decent arm muscles. Some of those obstacles were like....wow, my arm fatigue is kicking in, but I bet with some decent training I can do it.

    Some things I wish they had at Norwich is a functional confidence course so cadets can practice on it and some decent LRC's. Overall the FEX was great, I think it's because I made a lot of mistakes but learned how to do stuff, like plot points and find asmuths on a compass and map. I never really understood it in class,  but I sure got the hang of it  in the field.
