Week 4 started on Super Bowl Sunday. There was a view party in Plumley Armory, with a big screen and projector, wings, nachos, and sodas. It was an absolute PARTY when the Patriots won. I don't think the campus got quiet for at least an hour and a half after it ended. It's amazing what one win can do to the liveliness of this small campus.
I had my first Accounting quiz; all about bonds. The amount of jokes, references to movies, and puns was hysterical. I'm glad it was a group quiz.
I got a phone call on Monday night, letting me know that my step-grandmother had passed away during the night before. I am so glad that Norwich is like one big family, because all of my professors were completely understanding. The funeral was going to be held in Massachusetts, about 3 hours away by car, on Thursday. There was a snow storm, and it was moved to Friday. When I found this out, I was going to try to go, but the road conditions prevented me from doing so. I had already told my Friday professors that I was not planning on being in class, so when I showed up, and didn't have my assignments completed, they all understood. I even got an extension on my Management exam online.
If you are wondering if Norwich is right for you, take into consideration the relationships between professor and student. All of the professors care about your wellbeing, mental stability, and your success. If you miss class, they notice. If you miss an assignment due to unforeseen circumstances, they will work for you. Norwich is a close-knit, family-like community, and I would never imagine myself anywhere else.
