This entire experience leading up to our arrival at Norwich University has been such a ride so far. From the application to the packing of my things to counting the days to be sent off can only be described as exciting.
My name is Michael Alexander Villegas and I'm from Austin, Texas. Been in Texas all of my life and never have moved outside of the Lone Star State, but have always wanted to. Unlike most people that I imagine coming here, I didn't really have any drive or motivation to pursue college untill rather recently. It's been about 2 years since I've made the choice to come to Norwich and I'm so glad that I took the challenge.
Now that I think of it, I didn't really have any drive to do anything until I hit high school and joined my NJROTC program. That's when I really decided that I wanted to work hard and become something. I had some really good, successful years and decided that going military would be my goal in life. The perfect opportunity arose the day I received a curious letter from Norwich my Junior year. After some thought I decided to persue a greater challenge--the Norwich challenge--in Vermont and aim for even higher achievements.
Right now I'm super excited to meet all my rookmates and hope that everyone is as excited as I am. I know this is going to be an increable year for all of us and we will be a close family through it all.
Have you ever seen snow? :) Best of luck this year!
