My name is Janice Bolton and I am 16 years old from Stow, Massachusetts. My leadership experience includes coaching a girls youth lacrosse team as well as leading school projects. The most valuable lessons and skill sets I learned today would be to take control and be fair to others at the same time. The greatest challenge I have encountered today would have to be the balance beam station on the leadership reaction course. I would use the skills sets I have learned today in the future by combining people’s ideas and being fair to everyone while being in control. I had the most fun with knots and ropes today.

My previous experiences include Essex County Junior Youth Police Academy and Trooper Youth Week with New Jersey State Police. The most valuable lessons and skill sets I learned today was attention to detail, time management, and leadership. The greatest challenge that I encountered was the water survival class as well as greeting all of the staff. These lessons and skill sets provide me motivation and practice for my survival during rookdom. I had the most fun today with the leadership reaction course.

The most valuable lesson I learned today was that a leader must be confident. The greatest challenge I encountered today was helping my team be organized. The lesson I learned that leaders must be confident will help me when I find myself in a leadership position. I had the most fun with the leadership reaction course today.
My name is John Flory and I am 17 years old from Hanover, New Hampshire. I am the captain of my basketball team. Today I learned to lead by example. You always need to be ready and prepared ahead of time so that your team can be prepared as well. Also, I learned that leaders must be loud and confident. The greatest challenge I encountered today was marching my team because I had a hard time remembering all the commands. I will use what I learned today during games and practices with my basketball team. I now know that in hectic situations, leaders must remain calm so that their followers do not cave under pressure. I had the most fun today at the balance beam station on the leadership reaction course. I think that our team did very well and worked together perfectly.
My name is Anne Peternel and I am 17 years old from Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. I participated in Youth Leadership Weekend earlier this year. The most valuable lessons and skills sets I learned today were how to call out cadences, problem solving as a group, and working with a team in water survival. The greatest challenge was diving to the bottom of the pool to push the weight along the bottom during water survival. I will use what I learned today when leading sports teams and working with any group of people to solve problems. I had the most fun today with the leadership reaction course.
My name is Andrew Market and I am 17 years old from Franklin, Tennessee. I have done 3 years of JROTC and I also have participated in JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge, the National Youth Leadership Conference, and the National Youth Leadership Forum. The most valuable lesson I learned today was the stay confident at all times in order to maintain respect from those you are leading. The greatest challenge I encountered today was overcoming my own personal shortcomings while I was leader. I will use what I learned today to help lead my friends, fellow cadets, co-workers, etc. through whatever adversities they encounter. The activity I had the most fun with today was morning PT with Instructor Vala.
My name is Austin Basham and I am 15 years old from Acworth, Georgia. I have done two years of Naval JROTC and I also attended the Honor Code Leadership Preparatory Camp at the US Air Force Academy. The most valuable lessons and skill sets I learned today were the importance of staying calm, thinking over a problem, getting others ideas together, and going about solving them. The greatest challenge I encountered today was guiding my partner through the ‘mine field’ that he was going through blind folded. I will use what I learned today in the future back home at my Civil Air Patrol Squadron and also in my JROTC unit. The activity that I had the most fun with today was the water survival course with the Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant.

The greatest challenge I encountered today was directing and leading my team, especially when marching them. From the lessons and skills I gained today, I will keep my calm during stressful situations in the future. Today I enjoyed the water survival course the most.
