--There are 2 Rook Battalions, each made up of 6 companys (1st CO, 2nd Co, etc). In each company, there are 3 platoons (1-1, 1-2, 1-3 for example). The "cadre" are considered to be the one Platoon Sergeant and the 3 Staff Sergeants in charge of the platoon. The upper classman battalions (1st and 2nd BN) follow the same structure. There is also Headquarters company and Provisional BN (band, drill, cav). Rooks who go out for these special units have the choice to be in Provo BN when they become upper classmen.
