All you can do in this life is follow your dreams. Otherwise you're just wasting your time.
This past week, I had to make a few hard decisions and ultimately come to terms with some difficult realities. These experiences got me thinking about my future and my dreams for the future. I think my chosen quote is appropriate.
Many times when I see doors close or opportunities slip away, I find it can be easy to wonder where my journey will lead. I've always come to the conclusion that in my life, the paths will take many twists and turns but in the end, all that matters is that I continue to pursue my dreams, rather than following some alternate path suggested by others.
As I've often heard it said, 'we are not victims of circumstance'. Therefore we are in control of ourselves and have the greatest power over ourselves. There should never be a time, if we are still in our right minds, that we should ever surrender control of ourselves, our greatest assets, to another.
Our dreams lead us to do our greatest works. This in turn helps us build our legacies. One man will build his legacy on a new medical advancement for 2040. One woman will develop new educational methods in 2056. One legacy may take us beyond Mars. One legacy may develop new nutritional techniques. One legacy may leave behind flying cars, at last! No matter what, each legacy has a potential to be greater than the last. Who can tell? All we can do is keep working toward our dreams.
