Last week I got to experience my first ever Alumni weekend. Prior to this event we were aware that we were going to have hundreds of previous Alumni's back on campus. Our excitement was high but so was the feeling of pressure. The oldest year to come back was 1953 and it was such an honor meeting the previous cadet. During this weekend I had the opportunity to work check ins and this was by far one of the most memorable experiences. For almost 5 hours I was surrounded by leaders, officers in the military, entrepreneurs, dads, and heroes. To watch the huge flashy rings swing on by brought a sense of happiness for myself because I knew I was at the right school. Faces of smile and sorrow filled the room. Rook Week
Rook week was the most intense week I ever encountered. I never went through something that challenged me mentally and physically at the same exact time. We were faced with task that seemed almost impossible to achieve such as "time hacks". When they told me I had three minutes to shower I laughed because I thought it was a joke to scare us, until we were screamed at to hurry and hygiene. I didn't understand why we had to rush on this particular task and I began to question so much. However, once the screaming settled down we were taught to understand how time management is crucial in our live's. I now can proudly say that I am trusting the process entirely. Read more →
