Hello everyone! I will start off by introducing myself. My name is Brianna and I am a sophomore nursing student at Norwich University. I was born and raised in Vermont and I love this state! I went to a small tech center during my junior and senior year of high school where I studied Allied Health. The Allied Health program focuses on the medical field and helps you chase your dreams of being a healthcare professional. Nursing has always been in my heart since I was little, however my passion for helping people grew stronger and stronger when I started my clinical rotations in a local nursing home and hospital. Within the first year of this program I received my Licensed Nurses Assistant, Personal Care Attendant, and I also passed all five psychomotor skills for my Emergency Medical Responder. Due to my strong love of healthcare, my teacher decided she was going to open up a second year program and only accept three students into it. I got accepted and finished my senior year assisting/teaching the LNA students. I also got the opportunity to take night classes at a community college to peruse my dream of becoming a registered nurse. I took Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2, Introduction to Psychology, and Medical Terminology. Once I received my LNA license, I got hired at the nursing home I did clinicals at and worked their for about 8 months. I then got offered a job at a Traumatic Brain Injury Rehab and couldn’t pass up the opportunity. Working in the rehab with patients of various ages was a good variety. I had to leave that job once I came to college but now I am working for a company that does in home care and I love it! That is a little bit about myself and I hope to meet some new fellow nursing students!
I was a student blogger my freshmen year of college and will be continuing blogging throughout my sophomore year as well. I think blogging is a good way to not only document memories but also to learn more about your peers. I will also be doing the Snapchat blogging this year so be on the look out for that!
