While it is great to have study hall time on Sundays, depending on work load, the amount of study hall time can get to be too much, or you just need a breather from being in barracks. One of my favorite things to do when I don’t have a lot of work, is go hiking on Mt. Paine on Sunday’s. What’s fun about Mt. Paine, is that once you cross over into the mountain area, you’re at ease and able to explore as you wish.
Some of my favorite areas of Mt. Paine are the quarry and the very top of Freshman field, as each gives equally impressive views. I also find it very fun to be free to explore and climb with my friends, espeacially when compared to LED lights and beige/white walls. And while this past weekend there was snow, which made some of the climb harder, it also made it more fun and different than other times that I’ve gone up the mountain. And that’s the fun of it, so far every time I’ve gone up the mountain, I’ve gone up a different way, been with different groups of people, or had the option to use things from the Shaw Center, such as mountain bikes.
