Every year around Halloween, the Res Life sets up an event that is open to the community. This event is very well planned and you can totally see all the hard work that the RA’s put into it. They set up a night where students can come and carve pumpkins to set up around campus for the trick or treaters to come. They get decorations and decorate the residental building with fake spider webs, pumpkins, spiders, lights, etc. Kids are able to get dressed up and come through the halls of the residental buildings while the students hand out candy to them. I think it is such a great way to combined the community with our school. It is fun for not only the kids to dress up but also us students. Students also decorate the outside of their doors for this night. It allows us to take a break from homework and studying to make kids happy. I believe it is very important for Norwich to get involved and offer these events because then people learn more about our school. I have participated in handing out candy since my freshmen year and it truly is something I look forward to every year!
