It’s that time of the year again - the snow piles up and all you want to do is curl up with your blankets and take a long nap. Fighting that urge is especially difficult when you don’t have a car, restricting your options of things to do for fun to what's on campus.
I never imagined that I would end up at a military college, spending my Saturday night watching The Bachelor with a group of guys. We pile into someone’s room, often times with barely enough chairs or bed space to seat everyone comfortably. Someone pops a bag of popcorn and we settle in for the late night showing. With a show like The Bachelor, you have to get overly into it - picking favorites and overreacting to every little thing. It may just be a dumb reality TV show, but it brings us all together for a fun night it when its below zero degrees outside.
Although a lot of the time you have to make your own fun, there is entertainment offered on campus. This includes movie showings, game night in the WCC, and hockey games. Another option is going to the gym. If I didn't have friends that wanted to go to the gym everyday, you can bet that I'd stay in my warm bed. Even if it is more difficult to go when its snowing and miserable outside, you'll feel better and less guilty if you do end up taking that long nap afterwards.
