Christmas Present

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am fairly big Dallas Cowboys fan. Being from Virginia the extent of my experiences with my team don’t go past the T.V. Screen. However, during this break it would all change. On Christmas morning I got the surprise from my mom that we were leaving that weekend to fly to Dallas and go see the Cowboys play their rival Redskins. Not only was I excited to go to see the Cowboys, but also was excited to go and make memories with my mom, we don’t get to do this very often anymore. Once we landed in Dallas, we found our hotel and immediately found the nearest In and Out burger, this is restaurant only found on the west coast or in some big cities. Christmas Break

We finally made it to that time in the school year, the time where we get to go home and be with our families for an extended period of time. I know for me this is always an important time because, I don’t get to see them very often and if I do, it is not for this long of a period. A huge highlight for me is getting to see my dogs. They are always excited to see me. Another thing that makes this break a little more fun is it is the holiday season. I enjoy the Christmas music and obviously my grandma’s Christmas dinner, she always gets it right. Winter Fun and Opportunities

Vermont is known for some extremely cold temperatures but with this cold comes new opportunities! Before Christmas break they started constructing the ice rink on the WCC green. Now, people are on the ice playing hockey and skating with friends almost all of the time. The cold weather can be fun when opportunities arise. On February 1st many student volunteers will be heading to Burlington bright and early to help and participate in the Penguin Plunge to help raise money for the Vermont Special Olympics. There are hockey games frequently held on campus and the opportunity to snowshoe and hike the mountain or take a shuttle to near by ski lift to spend the weekend skiing.
