As word travels fast, I am sure that most of you who are reading this are aware that Norwich University closed early for the weekend and canceled all classes this past Friday (2/7/20) due to the treacherous weather conditions.
After having my only class on Friday's canceled Thursday morning, I decided to take a break from the campus and head home. Home for me is Saint Albans, VT, which is a nice drive from NU with about a 1.5 hour drive time.
It was soon after my arrival at home that the snowfall began! Slow and steady at first, but I woke up the next morning to find my car completely buried under the snow! Friday was a day for indoor activities (such as cozying up with some hot chocolate and movies!) Thankfully, the weather cleared up a little for my Saturday and Sunday morning commute to work, and I was able to get to and from work safely!
The Vermont weather can present some hazardous driving conditions, and you definitely should not venture out unless you absolutely have to. Below, I have listed some recommendations of items to keep in your car (because in all honesty, you never know when you may be stranded and need something!)
I hope this helps!
