My online Chinese classes with Project Go start soon! June 1st I’ll start classes, but there’s still plenty to do to prepare.
I have to take a pre-test of my ability so that it can be compared to the post test after two months of intensive classes. To prepare, I’ve been going over my old notes and using Duolingo as a review. I’m definitely the most rusty on writing characters, but the OPIC test is all listening and speaking.
I will be going into the intermediate level, with only last year’s program as my past experience in the language as far as formal training goes. I’ve been familiarizing myself with the language by watching Chinese movies and listening to Chinese music as well.
It will be interesting to see the format of the online classes as we haven’t been given any information on the times of the class or whether it will be more lecture or interactive. Last year in Taiwan, it was a very lively and interactive class environment, so it’ll be interesting to see how it translates to an online class.
