Hello all!
In this post, I figured I would share some of my tips and tricks for unwinding after a stressful day! Whether it be academics, or just a tough day in general, unwinding and focusing in on yourself is one of the most important things you can do for your mental health. Here are some things I would recommend:
- Essential Oil Diffuser
As we are not allowed to have candles on campus, this is a second-best for me! With all the different scents you can choose from, there's one to fit nearly every mood. Some of my personal favorites include rose, lavender, and eucalyptus! These diffusers can fill your room with beautiful, calming scents to last all day long.
- Music
YES! In my room (I currently reside in a single room) I have a little Bluetooth Amazon Alexa speaker for when I want to play my music out loud, but I also have my "trusty" AirPods for when I want to listen to my music in more crowded areas. I would highly, highly consider bringing both of these devices to college with you. Music can truly change your mood!
- Skincare
While this may sound "silly", trust me when I say that your daytime stress will only improve your nighttime skincare routine. After a long day, I look forward to unwinding with an exfoliating facemask. Nothing but positive outcomes from a lil extra self-care! ;)
- Coloring Book
Also, no joke. I have a mandala coloring book that I like to resort to when I'm feeling overwhelmed. The detail-oriented nature of a mandala coloring book brings me comfort to that kinda mood. Highly, highly recommend!
I hope these tips were helpful! :)
