Chapter 1: Introduction!

Hi guys and welcome to my first blog! To start, I'm Yoomide (you-meed) Millar (mill-R) but most people call me Mide; I'll be joining AFROTC with a Mathematics major and can't wait to share my Norwich University journey with you! A little bit about me: one way that my background may differ from most people is that I am a survivor of the 2010 magnitude 7 earthquake that shook my birth country Haiti. I was airlifted out of Haiti on the back of a C-17 Air Force cargo plane and upon arrival to America, I flew on the Colorado governor's private plane from Florida to where my adoptive parents were waiting for me in Colorado. Quick intro to pre-Norwich me

Like many of the other recent bloggers stated, I as well am a new 2021-2022 Norwich Student Blogger. To kick things off, my name's Hannah Meyer, but most refer to me just as "Meyer" (due to sports typically using just last names). I was born in NJ, raised in NY, but have traveled all over the place. This past June I graduated from high school, with honors a year early; throughout my HS career I played soccer, basketball, and some lacrosse. Coming into Norwich I will be double majoring in Criminal Justice Pre-Law & Political Science, eventually hoping to minor in Cyber Secruity. I'll be apart of the Corps of Cadets as well as the Air Force ROTC program. Sport wise I'll be playing for the Women's D1 Rugby team and possibly partaking in club hockey.
