Blog #2: Don't Worry, Everything Will Be Alright
As August 22nd approaches quickly, Rooks may be starting to get nervous and start overthinking how their first experience at Norwich will go with all new people, a new place, and even the COVID-19 Delta Variant becoming more prevalent. Trust me as a fellow Rook, I understand how this makes people feel. Just make sure you are as prepared as you can be for this major change in our lives. Don't feel overwhelmed by everything that "might" happen, just take it day by day and make the most out of every second.
August 22nd will be a defining moment for everyone in the Corps of Cadets, and we have to make sure that we put our best foot forward and never fail to try. Continue every day to get yourself mentally prepared for this step, because it is a big one, but that doesn't mean it will break you. Nothing has up to this point, you just have to keep on pushing. We all have to remember that we made this choice to become a member of Norwich University's Corps of Cadets, whether you wish to pursue a commission, go into the police force, or even just want extra discipline. We must continue to believe in ourselves and know that this choice will better us. It will be hard, where you may even ask yourself why you chose this path. Just remember that if you believe in your choice and put the work in, nothing will stop you to getting where you want to be. You have a family at Norwich now and everyone is there to help you. Just continue to believe in yourself and take it day by day. I can't wait to meet you all on the 22nd!
