The Spring semester is coming up, and I can’t wait! For this upcoming semester comes many new opportunities, such as the opportunity to better my GPA, better my physical fitness, and better myself in numerous other ways. Not only am I excited for what I can do better on, but I am also excited for my new classes. For the first semester (Fall 2021), I was eliminating most of my general education credits, but this semester I have the opportunity to take classes that are more tailored to my degree, which I am very excited for because I get to learn what I find interesting. Now, I’m sure my excitement is not a common perspective on this upcoming semester. Many individuals I’m sure are not looking forward to coming back for the Spring semester because of how much fun breaks can be. And I’m also certain that many individuals are anxious about this new semester because of their new classes, maybe they’re anxious because of how many credits they’re taking. Regardless, there are mixed emotions about this upcoming semester. But one thing everyone can agree on is this is a new semester, and with a new semester comes new opportunities (as stated before) and second chances. Maybe you didn’t do as well as you wanted last semester, well guess what, you have this upcoming semester to do better, you have this upcoming semester to improve your strengths and strengthen your weaknesses. Sure, classes aren’t as fun as breaks, but it is necessary. To do what is necessary, even when you don’t want to do it, is a vital core value to have, this is the value of discipline, which Norwich can help instill in your life. For in life, you’re going to have to do what you don’t want to do, you’re going to have to make sacrifices, you’re going to have to do what challenges you, so the challenges that you face in college will follow you for the rest of your life. So what can you do? Many things, one option is to find some motivation and discipline, for if you have motivation and discipline, you’ll be able to work when others don’t want to, you’ll be awake before everyone, and asleep after everyone, but this is for your benefit. Every hour of free time lost to hard work is another reward heading your way. Another way is asking for help, I’ve talked about this before. God, your family, your friends, and so many more people are willing to help, all you have to do is reach out. So, we have this new semester, a second chance, a new opportunity, if it isn't clear, this is the time for you to knock it out of the ballpark, give it your hardest, try your best, and see what happens, I’m sure many rewards are to follow. Anyways, to wrap up this post, here are some motivating words, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest” (Benjamin Franklin), and of course have a blessed semester!
