This past Saturday numerous student took part in the Norwich Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service. This day, from 0800 to 1600, we split into eight groups and went out into the community to serve in eight different locations as a way to remember MLK’s impact on the country. My group went to a homeless shelter and worked to organize shelves, organize their food supply, clean out the refrigerator, and many more miscellaneous tasks that they needed assistance in completing. The staff and members of the homeless shelter were all very appreciative of our help. The best part was that there was a small dog at the shelter that would hop into your lap with no hesitation! This was a very fulfilling experience and I’m excited to participate in the next Day of Service!
